Meagan Martin Instagram - 2022 has been filled with some serious ups and downs. Don’t get me wrong there were some incredible things that happened this year that I’m so thankful for. I think that is all documented on this platform accurately. What isn’t here is the the struggle that my husband @davewetmore1 and I have been going through since this summer. I don’t generally like to share vulnerabilities because overall I am a glass half full happy go lucky kind of person and even now I can see the positives within my current situation. I do however think it’s very important for my mental health, my grieving process, and for anyone else who is going through something similar to share my experience. Everyone’s journey with pregnancy and fertility is different, but at the end of the day loss is loss. I had my first miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant on August 25th of this year. It was extremely sad, but I felt like I was able to stay positive and bounce back from it somewhat quickly. I’m thankful that I didn’t feel shame or embarrassment and I was pretty open with people in person about it. Thank you to everyone who was so kind and positive during that time and to those who felt comfortable sharing their losses with me. Those conversations were immensely helpful. I found out I was pregnant again in October and I felt like this would be it. Every week that passed made me feel more confident. I saw our little gummy bear at 9 weeks and a day with a strong heartbeat and little arms and legs moving around. I felt like I could breathe after that. Yesterday At 12 weeks and 5 days I went in for another ultra sound, only to be met with an unmoving fetus and no heartbeat. This one hurts so much more as I was almost through the first trimester, only to find out we won’t be meeting our baby in July like we thought. Perhaps in the future I’ll share more about how this process has affected me as an athlete because it has been quite difficult. For now I’m just trying to pick up the pieces again and enter into 2023 hopeful for a better outcome this year and at some point a happy healthy baby. For anyone else who is going through something similar, I hope you stay hopeful too ❤️! #miscarriage

We started this process over a year ago and it really has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. Through all of the heartbreak and loss @davewetmore1 has been the most incredible partner and I don’t think I could have gotten through this without him. Still have a ways to go, but every piece of good news keeps me going. Watching my belly grow has also brought a new sense of joy and helped with the anxiety that comes with pregnancy, especially after loss. I had mixed feelings coming here as I am not in my normal shape by any means, but I’m definitely glad I decided to come. We experienced a little rain a couple days ago, so I’ve definitely done more hiking than climbing, which has been a great way to walk around and look at things to come back to. Bringing along my @athleticbrewing Trailblazer was clearly a great choice 🍻! Our pup Maddy has been pretty psyched in the extra hiking too!

Meagan Martin Instagram - 2024 has been quite the year! From moving back to Colorado to our first year as parents it has been incredible and of course exhausting 😂! I still haven’t climbed outside since becoming a mom, but I do manage to at least get in the gym a couple of times a week thanks to @davewetmore1 for always prioritizing one of our weekend days for my climbing and to @angelajpayne for helping me baby wrangle so I can get one weekday in! It’s been absolute incredible watching Indy this past year, as he changes so much everyday. Taking him to some of our favorite places, like the Cape this last summer was such a blast. I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to squeeze in some commentating jobs with the help of my parents this past year. My new role as a stay at home mom has been full on, the hardest and most rewarding job there really is. These days are chaotic filled with laughter, tears, snuggles, and new experiences. Can’t wait to see what 2025 brings! Definitely hoping there will be some outdoor climbing sprinkled in!

I don’t generally like to share vulnerabilities because overall I am a glass half full happy go lucky kind of person and even now I can see the positives within my current situation. I do however think it’s very important for my mental health, my grieving process, and for anyone else who is going through something similar to share my experience. Everyone’s journey with pregnancy and fertility is different, but at the end of the day loss is loss. I had my first miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant on August 25th of this year. It was extremely sad, but I felt like I was able to stay positive and bounce back from it somewhat quickly. I’m thankful that I didn’t feel shame or embarrassment and I was pretty open with people in person about it. Thank you to everyone who was so kind and positive during that time and to those who felt comfortable sharing their losses with me. Those conversations were immensely helpful. I found out I was pregnant again in October and I felt like this would be it. Every week that passed made me feel more confident. I saw our little gummy bear at 9 weeks and a day with a strong heartbeat and little arms and legs moving around. I felt like I could breathe after that. Yesterday At 12 weeks and 5 days I went in for another ultra sound, only to be met with an unmoving fetus and no heartbeat. This one hurts so much more as I was almost through the first trimester, only to find out we won’t be meeting our baby in July like we thought. Perhaps in the future I’ll share more about how this process has affected me as an athlete because it has been quite difficult. For now I’m just trying to pick up the pieces again and enter into 2023 hopeful for a better outcome this year and at some point a happy healthy baby. For anyone else who is going through something similar, I hope you stay hopeful too ❤️! #miscarriage

I do however think it’s very important for my mental health, my grieving process, and for anyone else who is going through something similar to share my experience. Everyone’s journey with pregnancy and fertility is different, but at the end of the day loss is loss. I had my first miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant on August 25th of this year. It was extremely sad, but I felt like I was able to stay positive and bounce back from it somewhat quickly. I’m thankful that I didn’t feel shame or embarrassment and I was pretty open with people in person about it. Thank you to everyone who was so kind and positive during that time and to those who felt comfortable sharing their losses with me. Those conversations were immensely helpful. I found out I was pregnant again in October and I felt like this would be it. Every week that passed made me feel more confident. I saw our little gummy bear at 9 weeks and a day with a strong heartbeat and little arms and legs moving around. I felt like I could breathe after that. Yesterday At 12 weeks and 5 days I went in for another ultra sound, only to be met with an unmoving fetus and no heartbeat. This one hurts so much more as I was almost through the first trimester, only to find out we won’t be meeting our baby in July like we thought. Perhaps in the future I’ll share more about how this process has affected me as an athlete because it has been quite difficult. For now I’m just trying to pick up the pieces again and enter into 2023 hopeful for a better outcome this year and at some point a happy healthy baby. Likes : 2808Meagan Martin - 2.7K Likes - 2024 has been quite the year! From moving back to Colorado to our first year as parents it has been incredible and of course exhausting 😂! I still haven’t climbed outside since becoming a mom, but I do manage to at least get in the gym a couple of times a week thanks to @davewetmore1 for always prioritizing one of our weekend days for my climbing and to @angelajpayne for helping me baby wrangle so I can get one weekday in! It’s been absolute incredible watching Indy this past year, as he changes so much everyday. Taking him to some of our favorite places, like the Cape this last summer was such a blast. I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to squeeze in some commentating jobs with the help of my parents this past year. My new role as a stay at home mom has been full on, the hardest and most rewarding job there really is. These days are chaotic filled with laughter, tears, snuggles, and new experiences. Can’t wait to see what 2025 brings! Definitely hoping there will be some outdoor climbing sprinkled in!
