Hong Ling Instagram - My beautiful and loving mummy, she is a Thai, and when she came to Singapore, she knew nothing—not the language, not the culture. A mother’s love for her child, afraid that I would be laughed at by my classmates for speaking Thai, she forced herself to learn Chinese from scratch, just so she could help me fit in. Every time I came home, she would be in the kitchen, cooking my favourite Thai dishes, making sure I always had a taste of home. Even in her final days, after chemotherapy had drained her, she still cooked for the whole family, worried that we wouldn't get to eat her home-cooked meals anymore. It was as if she was trying to give us one last piece of her, knowing her time was running out. Whenever I was away filming, no matter how much she missed me, she never called. She was afraid of disturbing me. That was the kind of mother she was—always putting us first, never herself. She was still so young. She spent her entire life caring for us, only starting to pursue her own happiness three years ago—gardening, practicing Tai Chi, hiking. But just as she began to live for herself, she was taken away. Last year, she saw a Bible verse about freedom and told me she wanted to go to church. The day I brought her there, she believed. A few months later, she asked me to bring her for baptism. I was in awe of what God had done for her. This past year, we have seen His hand at work. She is no longer in pain. My dad and I were by her side when she left. John 3:16—"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life." And I know… He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Death will be no more. We will see her again. Soon.

Took a long break from work to accompany Mum, to get closer to my God of the universe and to rest upon HIM. Replying to @nickk_teo 's post, i still don't know how you felt because I spent this 2 days with God and it was so wonderful that i forgot about you 🤣🫣 I will remember today dearly that it's my first silent retreat, a mini honeymoon with God, and it won't be my last. These pictures were taken 2 years ago today. It's one of my happiest days. 💕 Thank you for coming into my life too. Like what i said, "很期待看到你老的样子" 👴 You will be bald for sure 👍

Hong Ling Instagram - Hello 2024 ❤️‍🔥 I went for a social media break for a week for the first time, and this is what i realised!!! 1. I had a longer day. After i woke up, within 30 mins, i had washed up, cooked and ate breakfast, watered my plants, and fed my cats. Normally, when I wake up, i would use my phone for about 1-2 hours. Until I felt hungry, then i would get up and make some food. During the day when I'm bored, i will keep scrolling my phone too, and before i sleep, I will use it for another 1-2 hours. How time-consuming is it!? 2. I get all the things done. With plenty of time, I used this time to do some housework, read the books that i couldn't finish, and also exercise. 3. I felt less negatively! I think I should do this more often 😌💆‍♀️

Hong Ling Instagram - Hello 2024 ❤️‍🔥 I went for a social media break for a week for the first time, and this is what i realised!!! 1. I had a longer day. After i woke up, within 30 mins, i had washed up, cooked and ate breakfast, watered my plants, and fed my cats. Normally, when I wake up, i would use my phone for about 1-2 hours. Until I felt hungry, then i would get up and make some food. During the day when I'm bored, i will keep scrolling my phone too, and before i sleep, I will use it for another 1-2 hours. How time-consuming is it!? 2. I get all the things done. With plenty of time, I used this time to do some housework, read the books that i couldn't finish, and also exercise. 3. I felt less negatively! I think I should do this more often 😌💆‍♀️
