Dan, who lives in our Alan Shearer Specialist Residential home, has been showing his support for Mental Health Awareness Week by keeping active with his incredible baking skills. Supported by our staff, Dan had a great time in the kitchen whipping up a delicious and perfect Victoria sponge. There was plenty more fun when everyone enjoyed a slice afterwards, too. Being active is known to be good for our mental health and we’ve been supporting everyone in our Specialist Residential Home to make the most of their mobility by following the fun activities included in the Mental Health Foundation movement calendar. “Dan has enjoyed a few of the other activities in the calendar,” said home manager, Sarah, “but I think the baking session has been his favourite by far – just look at those smiles!” #mentalhealthawareness #Alanshearercentre #alanshearerfoundation
