A little film geekery: Every movie I make has its own production entity, and naming them is always fun. For my upcoming film, Adulthood, I called the production company El Jaibo. He’s the tragic villain played by the legendary Roberto Cobo in one of my favorite movies, Los Olvidados, directed by Luis Buñuel. Our movie is coming next year. In the meantime, you can watch Los Olvidados right now!
Can’t say enough about the new documentary from @lucywalkerfilm, @mountainqueenmovie. Lucy is at the top of her game, crafting a resonant, emotionally charged story that’s both intimate and epic, and highly cinematic. Great to see projected at @paristheaternyc. Premieres on @netflix in a few days.
