You never see the sun, people driving drunk , little girls making dirty videos , geologists and microbiologists disappear, all 8 of them, domestic violence and cheating spouses, mail order bride and local legends, dead woman from the past and the missing tongue, a tongue and it’s missing owner, billie ellish inviting you into this hell of the Beatles hating cop , SpongeBob electronic tooth brushes and a lot of déjà vu , polar bear with a blind eye, Tsalal and then ,”she’s awake” , a soundtrack to kill for , snow covered landscape , a hard nosed Jodie Foster at the top of her game , dead men showing up, dead finding their own , that’s Issa Lopez’s Alaska .. the new season of True detective has just dropped on @officialjiocinema .. Carrying on from what Cary Joji Fukunaga started with Matthew McConaughey , the new season, True Detective: Night Country is delectable, intriguing and pulpy in its own way. Alaska was colonised by Russia and Russians sold it to US for 7.2 million dollars in 1867. And US started mining it for Oil and gas and other natural resources. The history has a lot to do with the mystery and it’s f***edupness, racist entitled whites vs the indigenous has lead to probably what’s happening in this night country. Can’t wait to see where it goes .
