It will awaken
For a moment,
For long enough.
That particle
Of the Divine,
That shelters
In you, asleep.
It will come alive.
A patient ember,
Fanned aflame, again.
So long as you
Walk this place
On penitent feet.
And when you leave,
It will go to sleep,
Leaving you,
Merely you, again
But the memory
Of that wonder.
Shall remain.
