Benjamin Law Instagram – Hello, my butt is in the Archibald Prize this year, I’m sorry and you’re welcome.
Nothing but gratitude and love for genius young daddy @jordanrichardsonartist for this painting – his fourth (!) in the Archibald – that is, yes, a queer re-framing of Venus, a subversion of who gets to be object and subject, and a commentary on Asian masculinity, desirability and sexuality.
But mostly it’s about my butt.
Such an honour to be amongst artists and sitters I so bloody admire, I’ve tagged some of my favourites here. Congratulations to everyone in the exhibition.
