Powered by People was on the UT Austin campus today registering students to vote. Koveil wasn’t planning on participating in this year’s election, but after meeting our volunteers, he’s now registered to vote and has a plan to cast a ballot! This is the way forward if we want to help Democrats win this year’s big, important elections. If you live in Texas, you can help us register Texas voters by becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in your home county. Click the link in my bio to sign up for a short, virtual VDR training with us and then we’ll put you to work registering voters in your area.
Beautiful day to vote in Texas
We’ve got to do more than just be against Trump’s cruel policies and failures at the border. We must give voters a clear alternative: a pro-immigration platform that makes the case for why immigrants are great for America. Citizenship for Dreamers, a path for the undocumented, and a safe, legal, orderly way for people to immigrate are all great for America — for our economy, for our communities, and for our future. It’s also key to improving security and addressing the humanitarian crisis at our border.
Reunited, El Paso half marathon
Seeing the far right shift Texas took in the primary last week was tough. Luckily, I stumbled upon someone full of hope and fight Thank you so much @betoorourke for spending some time with me and seeing the value in Howdy. Let’s get to work, y’all! #txlege
President Biden is right to call out GOP hypocrisy on the border. But here’s one more thing he can do.
Amy and I loved seeing all of our Powered by People friends in town for the Dem convention! And thanks to all the new volunteers who signed up with us in EP!

She’s getting it done! Diana became a VDR on Friday and today she registered 7 new voters at UTEP. Imagine if each of us did that and registered 7 voters a week, stayed in touch with them and helped them make a decision to vote in November. You can sign up to do it with Powered by People through the link in my bio.
Thanks to Steven & all the others out there recruiting Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs) to register Texas voters. This is how we win back our state. If you live in Texas, sign up for a 45-minute VDR training with us and we’ll put you right to work. Sign-up link in my bio.
Ran into Dylan last night — he came to our show in Minot in 1994 and still has the record he bought from us at the Minot Collective Cultural Center 30 years ago! Had a great time afterwards at @mainstreetbooksminot with Val and Lindsey and all the folks who came to hear about We’ve Got to Try. And then this morning visited the Gol Stave church at the Scandinavian Heritage Park before I hit the road with a big coffee and some amazing pastries from @prairieskybreads
