Darkness envelops the room,
a sliver of moonlight casts eerie shadows that dance with a life of their own.
It’s barely the second day of my fast, yet it appears it has taken its toll,
my mind teetering on the edge of reality and the unknown.
Whispers echo in my consciousness,
voices from another realm calling out,
their words indistinguishable yet insistent.
I feel their eyes upon me, watching, waiting.
The shadows twist and writhe in grotesque forms.
My heart pounds, a reminder of my fragile existence.
Is it Marbas? The ancient demon of secrets.
Have I opened the heliotrope portal?
Only the shadows know…
and they keep their secrets well.
