let me try not to get emotional! talk about a cosmic match. i had such a specific idea in my head for kit’s voice, and in max we found not just the perfect sound but such a deep, sincere resonance between character and performer that made this casting feel downright magical.
for weeks before recording started, max and i talked about this book and this character. i got to witness their dedication to their craft from their first introduction to kit to the final pages. the @macmillan.audio team let me sit in the studio for a couple recording sessions, and i was lucky enough to be there while max recorded kit’s last chapter. the vulnerability! the gentle, reverent, raw emotion! they had everyone in the studio in tears, including me.
