It’s so damn hard to even get the audition in the first place and, in this era of self tapes, you sit for hours on end working and performing in a relative vacuum, only to just send it off into cyberspace without any sort of acknowledgment that it was received, let alone watched or considered. There’s more hollow rejection and loneliness in the business of acting than before, it seems to me.
