And THIS is why encounters with the police for BLACK MEN are so traumatic. It’s why the incident that I recently posted about with someone who called the police on me for NOTHING had me so enraged!!! Because these incidents are so mentally taxing, but men are suffering in silence DAILY!!!!
Trauma, is not exclusive to one gender!!!! Men and boys are suffering as well. And often it becomes deadly!!!! And the mere notion that the deadly encounter is possible is compromising men and boys mental health. Particularly, us “good ones”. Why? Because you could be shot and killed, at a bar like this or for walking your dogs and someone weaponizes the police because they don’t like you.
