Frank Pinello (@bestpizza33) spends time with nomadic chef Auggie Russo (@tinypizzakitchen), a relative newcomer on the scene who has made a name for himself doing pizza pop-ups out of a Roccbox. He spent his career as a video editor until work dried up during Covid. So he dusted off his culinary skills and set out on his pizza journey.
Auggie takes Frank to a couple of his favorite spots where he studied the art of pizza: Salsa Pizza (@salsa.pizzeria) Neapolitan and Impasto (@impastonyc) for classic Roman-style. Then Frank jumps in on learning Auggie’s signature “Miss Betty White” pie, which is never the same thing twice because, as Auggie describes, “Betty is always changing wardrobe.”
