Gokul Suresh Instagram – This post is me not being party political in any way but is about Suresh Gopi, a man whom I’ve known for the past 25 years and someone I’ve admired a lot for his ingenuity and individuality. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a fanboy of his iconic characters portrayed onscreen. As for many of you, he was also my ‘Action Superstar’ and my greatest inspiration to take up cinema as a career. Few years back, when he entered active politics, for many of you it was a surprise but not to me. He has been an obligated social worker since his initial days, both in college and in cinema.
It was indeed a pleasure for me to know that my father was contesting for the parliamentary elections from Thrissur. I was upset and unsettled for the amount of criticism he and his confidantes faced on social media and hence I personally volunteered to campaign for my father along with my family. I got to see lots of love and affection pouring in from the people of Thrissur while campaigning for him. I honestly hope that they have realised how ethical and sincere Suresh Gopi is and use their voting right to his merits.
I repeat, there is no political motive in this post or do I intent to boast the long list of social commitments Suresh Gopi has fulfilled during his lifetime but is a humble reminder to not blindly fall for fake political agendas. Afterall, Suresh Gopi is a person who has proved his mettle in serving people, no matter which party he represents. In this largest democracy of the world, the purpose of each elected representative would be to serve the people at the end of the day. Being his son, I can earnestly vouch that he would wholeheartedly perform his duties as the MP of Thrissur, apart from being a part in the law making process of the country. All I ask for is a chance that you could offer him to prove his capabilities. The voters of Thrissur can definitely judge him upon his merits and demerits during his tenure, but a change is essential at this point. Cast your precious votes for this essential change. Cast your precious votes for development. Cast your precious votes for the betterment of the society. Cast your precious votes for Suresh Gopi.
