Joe Hisaishi Instagram – Celebrated composer @joehisaishi.official joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on Thursday for the first of four sold-out concerts featuring several of his musical highlights. There was a palpable energy in Orchestra Hall as he took to both the podium and piano to lead symphonic selections from the beloved Studio Ghibli films Princess Mononoke and Howlās Moving Castle, as well as his anticipated Third Symphony and other works. Soprano @diananew lent her ethereal voice to the famous title track of the Princess Mononoke Suite, and Hisaishi played a solo encore before the full orchestra joined him once more for a performance of World Dreams. @csomusicians
