Jonas Blue Instagram – So story goes… When we wrote ‘Ritual’ I had been in Ibiza the night before & was under instructions not to have a “big one” after my set as I had to get back to London first thing for a session with @frasertsmith @gracey & @waynehectorh. However, I completely disregarded that instruction & ended up going out all night & went straight back to London that morning!
Absolutely hanging at this point & on the way to a very big session with my peers, I thought ‘I can’t go into the session without any ideas’. So as we were in the car on the way to the studio I saw the shop called “Rituals” & was like hmm 🤔… that could be a cool title for today’s session.
Unbeknownst to the studio crew, who didn’t realise I had been out all night I shared my idea with them. They loved it & the song came together within an hour! 🙏🏼
Fast forward a year or so later I was playing at @livmiami where I met @tiesto for the first time. He greeted me with “Ahhh you’re the Spotify hitmaker”😂. He then said he’d love to do a collaboration with me & asked if I had any songs that could work. Straight away I thought of “Ritual” which was a demo that had been sitting on my drive for a year. I said to Tijs that to top this song off we should ask if @ritaora would do the topline as it totally felt like something she could pull off & of course we love Rita! A few weeks after, we ended up reproducing the demo & had Rita cut the vocal. 5 years later it remains a firm classic! ❤️🔥 | Posted on 31/May/2024 20:07:02
