YOU CAN’T SCALE THE MOUNTAIN AND SKIP STEPS. Ask anyone who has had success over a long period of time.
Ran the @nyrr #unitedhalfmarathon yesterday, and it while it was amazing.. sometimes the process sucked. Early morning runs at 5:30am before the kids got up, buying new shoes, a garmin, running in the rain, getting to bed on time (which has always been a struggle for me). All this over 12 weeks is why my run went as good as it did. Also, it started with small runs. THAT was frustrating.. cause honestly, I wanted to run faster and longer earlier in the process. Having run the race now.. that would have been a huge mistake. My body didn’t have that kind of endurance yet.. neither did my mind.
My confidence and capability was forged over time in… the PROCESS.
Dreams are like that, art is like that. It’s not about being talented, athletic. Do we have the patience for the process- however long it takes?
