Lauren Spencer Instagram – My gratitude level has hit an all time high for the collaborators that I worked with on this year’s Easterseals Disability Film Challenge aka EDFC. Without the TEAM, NONE of this is possible and I MUST acknowledge that first.
For those of you who don’t know, the EDFC is a volunteer based yearly short film competition that must feature disabled talent in front and behind the lens, AND must be shot and completed within a 6 day span. The EDFC creates visibility and opportunity for all of those involved, but particularly uplifts disabled creatives telling their authentic stories. I personally love it because it gives filmmakers of all levels of experience a chance to creatively tell their stories and share them with a wide audience.
In all honesty, it’s challenging to cobble together crew that will volunteer their time and energy but I always seem to find the right teammates who see the bigger picture of what we are doing and/or are supporting their associates.
