A couple of weeks ago, 360 miles from Kherson, Russia opened a new front along the 620 mile frontline, pummeling the town of Vovchansk with 300 bombs. Now that town, which had a pre-war population of 17,000, is a shell.
The attack on Vovchansk came just over two weeks after another Russian assault on the Kharkiv region sent thousands of Ukrainians fleeing.
