La settimana scorsa sono stato in visita a Riyadh. Ho avuto l’occasione di incontrare Faisal F. Alibrahim il Ministro dell’economia e della pianificazione dell’Arabia Saudita, nonché Segretario del consiglio di amministrazione del Fondo Nazionale di Sviluppo e Presidente del Fondo Nazionale infrastrutture dell’Arabia Saudita. Con lui ci conosciamo dai tempi della Presidenza italiana del G20 ed è una delle persone che lavora ogni giorno all’implementazione dell’ambizioso programma Vision 2030. Ogni volta che ci confrontiamo sui pilastri del programma Vision, noto quante similitudini ci siano con diversi programmi della UE e degli Stati Membri in settori chiave come healthcare, rinnovabili, infrastrutture, smart cities, raw materials e tecnologie. Un campo molto ampio per la collaborazione tra le nostre istituzioni e le nostre aziende.

Ieri a Roma insieme a due cari amici: il Presidente dell’AGCOM e già Vice Segretario Generale della Camera dei Deputati Giacomo Lasorella e il Prof Pino Pisicchio ordinario di diritto pubblico comparato e già membro della Camera dei Deputati. È stata una discussione davvero interessante con gli studenti della scuola di scienze della politica dell’Università degli studi internazionali di Roma. Abbiamo avuto modo di approfondire molti aspetti del libro di G. Lasorella: “Il Parlamento: Regole e Dinamiche. Una introduzione al diritto parlamentare”.

Buona Giornata della Liberazione a tutti! << […] Liberazione, dunque, dall’occupante nazista, liberazione da una terribile guerra, ma anche da una dittatura spietata che, lungo l’arco di un ventennio, aveva soffocato i diritti politici e civili, calpestato le libertà fondamentali, perseguitato gli ebrei e le minoranze, educato i giovani alla sacrilega religione della violenza e del sopruso. L’entrata in guerra, accanto a Hitler, fu la diretta e inevitabile conseguenza di questo clima di fanatica esaltazione. In Europa abbiamo la Nato. La difesa comune europea sarebbe l’optimum. Dovremmo cominciare a farla. Questa e’ la sfida per la prossima Commissione Ue”. Lo afferma al Tg4 il Rappresentante speciale della Ue nel Golfo Persico, Luigi Di Maio. Di Maio prosegue: “La risposta di Israele all’Iran ci sara’ perche’ lo sta dicendo. Colpira’ il suolo iraniano o le basi in Siria? Noi lavoriamo su due fronti: difendere Israele ed evitare l’escalation. L’Arabia Saudita non ha confermato che loro abbiano agito per abbattere i droni iraniani. La Giordania lo ha fatto. Presto i ministri degli Esteri della Ue incontreranno quelli del Golfo Persico, tra cui Arabia Saudita, Emirati Arabi e Qatar. Con loro dobbiamo lavorare per evitare una guerra in tutta la regione del Medio Oriente. Dobbiamo evitare che il Medio Oriente diventi lo sparo di Sarajevo della prima guerra mondiale”.
Ieri si sono tenuti gli Stati Generali dell’Italia a Bruxelles, un’ottima iniziativa per discutere con i funzionari italiani delle istituzioni, i temi di principale attualità per la Unione Europea e per l’Italia. Grazie a Giorgia Meloni e Antonio Tajani per avermi invitato a partecipare e congratulazioni per l’organizzazione all’Ambasciatrice di Italia a Bruxelles Federica Favi, al Rappresentante Permanente dell’Italia presso l’Unione Europea Vincenzo Celeste ed al Rappresentante Permanente dell’Italia presso la NATO Marco Peronaci.
