An enormous part of who I am (maybe the biggest) is my outsized confidence. It came from loving parents who made me feel safe. And it came from a big brother like Jay, who always looked at me like this. Enjoying me, making me feel loved, funny, smart, worthwhile. It’s the greatest gift imaginable. I think about it daily. And I think about what I can do to give this gift, which was so generously given to me, to others that might need it.
