Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III Instagram – Happy to announce this!
In 2021 I was approached by an old friend @coop_the_creative and my mentor @realbillduke to come on as a producer for this incredible film #Defiant bringing to life the true story of Captain Robert Smalls.
Robert Smalls was a enslaved man who began to serve in the confederate navy during the civil war and had the courage and strength to hijack and take control of the USS Planter and surrender it to the Union side he became instrumental in the Union enlisting black men to fight against the confederate south and ultimately in winning the war. He also was the first black man elected to the House of Representatives after the civil war and wrote impactful legislature for the school systems of Carolina.
Producing has been one of the most difficult yet rewarding things I have taken on but when God orders a step you go forward. And every step forward is a cause for celebration
This film is a true story that must be told and I’m honored to take on the task of helping tell it. Big shout out to @legionmofficial and @robertblakewhitehill for there trust belief and for having me along for this journey. Thank you @deadline for spreading the word! Trust me when I say it this story will entertain and educate like no other.
