Matt Lister Instagram – Thought I’d join in the ‘post a pic of you from when you were 21’. Can’t believe it’s a decade ago already.
Believe it or not, despite the look on my face, this is one of the happiest times of my life. Mid season, and mid way between the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, fresh off the back of a European Silver medal and a team Gold, so hungry and driven that nothing and no one could get in my way of anything. Memories I cherish of competing with my sport wife and partner in crime @rhys_maredudd every day.
Those years (for better or worse) have shaped me into the person I am today. I am so grateful for the opportunities they gave me, the lessons they taught me and the skills and competitive fighting spirit they left me with.
One of those opportunities being that I had the pleasure of working with my now irreplaceable wonderful talented friend @cleverprimeuk for the first time. Who has been so instrumental into helping me transition out of sport and discovering my whole new worlds of creative freedom.
So after all that, just wanted to say thank you to Canoeing, to my old team mates and coaches, my wife/crewman Rhys, and thank you to Lee (cleverprimeuk) for where I am today… and to finish, a last goodbye to my hairline hahahahaha.
