Morgxn Instagram – as pride month comes to a close I wanted to share a piece of the speech I wrote when I accepted the award for Voice of Change from the @tnpridechamber
we all grew up hearing “sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you”
I can fully say that is a lie and so I rewrote it to reflect the life that I have lived.
Every year I feel more and more grace for the scared child inside that was terrified being LGBTQ was an ending.
I see that it’s a beginning … but it’s something you have to claim for yourself over and over again in a million ways.
And as my voice grows stronger, the comments and DMs I receive are growing just as loudly.
But I’ve never felt prouder to be myself. Flaws and all.
And I hope you find the courage to write your way through this becoming as well.
