Paul Reubens Instagram – 🎭✨ Tosca is a fan from Italy and she didn’t even grow up with Pee-wee! But read, In her own words, how her journey with Paul Reubens’ work has shaped her life and artistic aspirations:
“I wish I grew up with Pee-wee, but I’m from Italy and he is a bit less known here. However, Paul has always been part of my life to some degree. He appeared in many films I used to watch as a kid, and I grew up with Tim Burton’s and Danny Elfman’s work, whose careers were helped by and, of course, connected to Paul’s. When I finally found Pee-wee Herman in my teenage years, he has since accompanied me through high school and university.”
🎓 “I graduated this past July, a few days before Paul’s passing, with no real plan for what to do next. I have since taken classes with the Groundlings, gone to circus school (I’m learning how to walk the tightrope!), sketched Goldberg-inspired contraptions, bought a Lava lamp, worked on new film projects influenced by Paul’s work… I ended up dedicating my gap year entirely to Pee-wee!”
“I’m heartbroken that I was never able to reach Paul to thank him personally. This is a bit corny, but I hope that if I manage to become a filmmaker, performer, and artist in general, my work can speak for itself and express the positive impact he’s always had, not just as an artist but as a kind, intelligent and caring human being.”

🐰 About her photo: “I think this picture of Pee-wee with Vance is one of the coolest and funniest movie stills. I tried to recreate it with my pet bunny, Mrs. Hudson, although it’s just a clumsy selfie that was quite difficult to take (it took me about sixty attempts!)”
