Last week, over 350 towns/municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, were disastrously affected by unprecedented floods due to heavy rains in the region. Many rivers and bodies of water in the region, inundated and submerged many towns under brown, muddy water. The number is far from certain, but many people lost their lives, homes, access to food, clean water, hygienic products, and many other basic needs.
