This man is one of my heroes for so many reasons. He was the boxing version of Michael Jordan for those of us who watched his prime. Once in a generation you have the super talent who meets the disciplined overachiever in one person- that was Roy.

Add on top of being the most gifted fighter I’ver ever seen live- he is a great trainer who cares about his fighters as well as super humble man who is generous with his time for fans and fighters alike.

He is the archetype of what you want from a retired great. I’ll never be anywhere near as good as Roy was in the ring but I can always strive to be a class act outside of the ring like Roy always is.
