After Liv’s challenging birth, dealing with reflux, lack of sleep, and respiratory issues, I felt overwhelmed and doubted my ability to handle another child.
While trying for our third baby, I begged, prayed, and surrendered to God for peace. It became my mantra, my vision, my anchor. Whenever my mind wandered, I found myself returning to a peace that only God could provide
I feared I would reach the end of my life regretting not having more children. I longed for a third baby, a boy, and we even had his name picked out, so we discovered it was a girl, I was surprised. I had envisioned a son and felt a slight panic. I wasn’t prepared for another girl. 🙃 But God had different plans.
I had a list of girl names and asked Ryan if he liked the name Georgia. Fortunately, he did.
Her pregnancy and birth were everything I prayed for: beautiful, enjoyable, and most of all, unexplainably peaceful.
Thank you God. In just one year, Georgia has taught me so much. Some lessons are hard to put into words, but she has shown me that I am capable, stronger than I thought, and importantly — a good mom. I thank God, because I’m just really so grateful.
Georgia June, you’re my best friend. Thank you for all you have given me, @ryanlochte, and @caidenlivgeorgia thus far. We can’t imagine life without you.
