S. Dilla Thomas Instagram – It’s been a week to talk about legacies and today was no different!
🚌 Today we took a Mahogany Tour of the west side with @6figga_dilla and learned SO MUCH!
😎 We were rolling deep with Hamilton Park, Austin Townhall and Fellowship TRACErs @teensreimagining together for this fun tour. We saw many spots and Dilla had a story for us for each one. From the old Sears building, and Sears Tower to @thebeelovecafe where we got to try to come west side made honey 🍯 and it was so yummy!
🐝Bee Love Cafe! You were so sweet to us! We really enjoyed hearing about your business and sampling those tasty smoothies.
✨We ended our tour on the block that Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr lived in in his time in Chicago. It was really powerful to stand on the block where he called home while he was here.
Every day our TRACErs are learning about this city of big shoulders they call home and about the stories and legacies of those who came before them.
