Although Chile has had a democracy for 30 years, the rules of such had been established by Pinochet’s brutal dictatorship. Yesterdays crushing victory finally buries a regime that systematically violated human rights and killed more than 3200 Chileans. It’s the rebirth of a nation. The world looks on in hope!
It will be a long road, but after a grueling year for most, and a lifetime of inequality for a vast number of Chileans, you can begin to glimpse a better future.
