Saransh Goila Instagram – I believe in one saying – No matter what’s going on in your life there’s some form of POTATO that can make it better! Pahadi Aloo Ke Gutke is a dish from Uttarakhand in India. It is a popular Kumaoni dish which is served with madua ki roti. The highlight of this recipe is the use of JAKHIYA which is a wild local mustard seed found there. Have you ever tried this recipe or any dish from Uttarakhand batao?

Aloo ke Gutke

300g Boiled potatoes, peeled & diced
1tbsp Coriander seeds
2 Green chilies
A handful of fresh coriander
1 inch Ginger, peeled
Crush everything well into a coarse paste

1 tbsp Mustard oil
2 Dried red chilies
1/2 tsp Jeera
1/4 tsp Hing
1 1/2 tsp Jakhiya
Add the coarse paste
& mix everything well

1 tsp Red chili powder
1/2 tsp Haldi powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Water
Mix everything well
Add the diced potatoes
& cook till all the water has evaporated
Look at that 😍

Garnish with chopped coriander
