So much passion and one ambitious goal: to show the aesthetic and the spirit of Shintaro Kago’s works through a live action movie. This is the dream of Neapolitan director Alessio Martino who achieved the impossible: he gained the collaboration of the Ero-Guro Master for the creation of “Unko No Teikoku: The Empire of Shit”, an original work that now enjoys the artistic supervision of the Japanese mangaka.
“Unko no Teikoku”: when poop smells good
The director presented his project in a video-trailer that can be found under this article and launched a crowdfunding campaign on his Indiegogo page, where you’ll be able to fund and support the work. “Unko no Teikoku: The Empire of Shit” is set in a peculiar universe.
Our main-character is Paola, a young woman with an interesting gift: her poop smells good. This lights-up her boyfriend’s, Marco, entrepreneurial spirit as he is always on the hunt for success. He decides to take advantage of the situation by creating a business using his girlfriend’s perfumed poop. However, things start to get messy when Marco’s Japanese business partners demand more and more. Only Shintaro Kago’s divine intervention can untangle this tricky situation.
Here, social satire and pure non-sense converge in one crazy maelstrom. “Unko no Teikoku” not only strives to entertain, but also invites you to reflect upon the contradictions, excesses and flaws of every-day life. “
