The @MetOrchestra launched its first-ever Asian concert tour last night at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, with our indefatigable Music Director, @NézetSéguin, on the podium. No amount of jet lag could keep the ensemble from delivering an unforgettable performance of the overture from Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer, the orchestral suite from Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, and Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle, featuring mezzo-soprano @elina.garanca and bass-baritone @VanHornCVN. The orchestra retakes the stage tonight for a second thrilling performance before heading to Japan on Friday.
