Yannick Nézet-Séguin Instagram – What a night! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Great Stages Concert in Marian Anderson Hall. The energy and enthusiasm surrounding this historic occasion was palpable. We’re still starstruck from the spectacular lineup! 🤩 Queen Latifah served as our incomparable host, and Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestra were joined by Latonia Moore, Audra McDonald, Angel Blue, Marcus Roberts, and the St. Thomas Gospel Choir for deeply impactful performances connected to Marian Anderson. The concert opened with “My Country, ’Tis of Thee” and closed with a newly orchestrated version of Florence Price’s “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord,” both sung by Anderson on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 1939 after she was denied the opportunity to sing at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, because of her race. Thank you to all who joined us on Saturday for this spectacular event!
