Ali Landry Monteverde Instagram – Our next stop was Toulouse , France , where we met Annette and her husband Yves who have a beautiful shop called @ahpymadeinfrance . They shared with us all about the ancient blue pigment that Toulouse is famous for. During the Renaissance period it wasn’t merely a dye , it was considered blue gold and it was the color that was extracted from the woad plant which colored the cloth worn by French Kings. Annette gave us a workshop that dove into the pastel history and we did a little dying of our own.
