Heartland Season 18 is back filming from hiatus. While filming took a break, Amber Marshall, Shaun Johnston and Chris Potter had the opportunity to be Celebrity Judges for the Calgary Stampede Parade, presented by Suncor. What an honour! The Heartland Celebrity Judging trio had a great day kicking off the Calgary Stampede at the opening day parade, although it was no easy task to choose our favourite entry. It was close, and we were blown away by the effort and dedication for so many of the parade entries. The creativity and spirit from all those participating are what makes the Calgary Stampede the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth! Congratulations to the Taipei First Girls High School Marching Band, Honour Guard and Colour Guard, who were awarded the best entry by the Heartland Celebrity Judges! #iloveheartland #calgarystampede

Lucky for us, Heartland is on hiatus, so we could enjoy the opening day parade. I had so much fun taking it all in—the rodeo, the rides (okay, just watching them!), and the great company. Here’s a little piece of advice: navigating city traffic and finding parking during all the festivities can be tricky. So, I recommend using Lyft!
