Sono dentro l’incubo peggiore
Ci sono loro nel mezzo della guerra
Tra bombe e distruzione
Loro che si svegliano sapendo che potrebbe non succedere più
Ci sono loro tra le macerie
E poi ci siamo noi…
Che non ce ne interessiamo neanche più
Che non ne scriviamo neanche più
Che non li vediamo neanche più
Quando c’è così tanto dolore, per chi soffre, essere visto è molto.. significa rispettare quel dolore.. in qualche modo prendersene cura. Scegliere di vedere e di provare a sentire ciò che questi figli vedono e sentono è un gesto di profonda umanità. Poi ne consegue tutto il resto.. ma vi prego.. non facciamo finta che non stia succedendo..è tutto così dolorosamente davanti ai nostri occhi

They’re in the worst nightmare
They are there in the middle of the war
Between bombs and destruction
Them who wake up knowing that it might never happen again
They are among the rubble
And then there’s us…
That we don’t even care anymore
That we don’t even write about it anymore
That we don’t even see them anymore
When there is so much pain, for those who suffer, being seen is a lot… it means respecting that pain… somehow taking care of it.
Choosing to see and try to hear what these children see and hear is a gesture of profound humanity.
Then everything else follows..
but please.. let’s not pretend it’s not happening.. it’s all so painfully before our eyes
