We asked each other how we wanted to do the scene. “Are we gonna cry?” I jokingly asked. We had been crying all day already and this scene that we had to shoot at sunset would’ve been our break from all the other crying scenes for the rest of the day. “I already shot the scene leading up to this…I cried a lot there.” Shaina replied. We laughed and agreed we wouldn’t cry.
While direk @lawfajardo and his team adjusted the cameras a little more, we stared ahead. The beach was gorgeous. The sun rays were so defined and the water was calm. Direk Law told us there would be a drone shot and solo shots for me and Shaina, as well as a master a mid shot of the two of us. So our plan to not cry was perfect since we’d have to do the scene over and over. But as soon as direk Law and direk Rico shouted action, and we locked eyes, I knew that my resolve to not cry was thrown out the window. It’s so rare to find a scene partner that is so in sync with you that you can’t help but feel exactly what they’re feeling. For actors, this is us at our happiest state. It’s a euphoric feeling. So much so that everyone felt it too after and we were all smiling from ear to ear right after the scene. Thank you, Shaina for this gift ❤️ I will make sure we work together again, one day! 💃🏻
