Bethann Hardison Instagram – Felicidades to Kamala Harris who is officially the VP nominee for the USA. Every little girl no matter the color of her skin should know this too is their moment. All of us “girls” are excited to see political progress for women during this significant week of the right for women to vote. But it wasn’t for all women. The advocacy of women of color like Fannie Lou Hamer and Denise Nash help lead the biggest voting victory for all, the Voting Rights Act of 1965. But voting suppression tactics, still exist.
But still we celebrate as we should, because today belongs to Kamala Harris, and every single American.
History has been made and we remain in respect and memory of those earlier advocates as we build on their legacies.
So let us dance for joy, continue to wear your mask, and get all besides yourself to VOTE.
