Catherine Bell Instagram – EASY 15 minute weeknight Pasta “Bolognese” 🍝 👌🏼
(added the quotes because as my Italian friends pointed out… This is not a traditional Italian Bolognese! But it is a quick and yummy meal when you’re limited on time!) ❤️
Ps I started adding carrots and zucchini when my kids were little and didn’t always eat enough vegetables. 🥕
– 1 lb Ground beef (grass Fed or at least hormone & antibiotic free)!
– 1 onion chopped
– 3-4 cloves garlic minced
– 1/2 zucchini and/or 1/2 carrot (grated or chopped)
– jar organic marinara sauce
– Garlic powder
– Onion powder
– Lemon Pepper (my secret ingredient!)
– your fav pasta noodles
Soften the onions/garlic with 1-2 tablespoons olive oil. Then add the beef and brown.
Add salt & pepper, garlic powder, onion powder & lemon pepper. Can also add oregano or thyme
Add in the zucchini & carrots
Once it’s all browned, add the sauce and get it good and bubbly/hot then turn down to Low/Medium and let it simmer for at least 5-10 minutes. But longer if you have time. The flavors really sink in!
Add a splash of cream/half & half and a pat of butter.
More salt/pepper to taste.
Grate fresh Parmesan reggiano on top and enjoy!!
Yes we made this homemade sourdough bread – but we don’t always have homemade bread. Any French or sourdough loaf will do. Cut it thick if you can. Butter and just garlic powder if that’s all you have. Or you can go fancy with garlic and other herbs.
This is one of my kids favs!!! And mine too! 🥰
