Cynthia Nixon Instagram – I always so loved (and I guess identified with) Shelly Duvall.  She was one of my dad’s absolute favorites from those many Robert Altman movies she shined in. He would always take me to see her in them. She was completely unique. Original. Kooky. Very gentle and sensitive but with surprising reserves of strength.
I was still in high school when the Faerie Tale Theater tv series she created came out and though I wasn’t really the right age I watched them all. It blew my mind that this woman who was seemingly so spacey could pull something together like that. Go watch them if you’ve never seen them. But maybe even better go watch her in the Shining, Three Women, Brewster McCloud, Thieves Like Us, Nashville, even Popeye which is terrible but she is GREAT: Olive Oyl come to life.
