Throughout her career, our latest digital cover star, actor Daisy Edgar-Jones, has gravitated towards characters with a deep love of the outdoors. In @crawdadsmovie, Edgar-Jones’s character, Kya Clark, lives among the lush, green swamps with filming taking place in and around New Orleans, Louisiana. In her newest film, @twistersmovie, which premieres this week as a standalone sequel to the 1996 film of the same name, the actor travels across the vast red plains and low-lying hills of Oklahoma as storm chaser Kate Carter.
Twisters is as much about the awe-inspiring force of nature—of phenomena like tornadoes and storms—as it is about the adaptability of the human spirit; about urgent efforts to live in harmony with our environment in the face of climatic fury. It’s also an undeniably timely film.
