Danielle Robay Instagram – 1. Wildflower by @aurorajames is a memoir with community sisterhood perseverance at its center..reading about Aurora’s interesting background and yearning to QUESTION EVERYTHING will inspire you to work towards change. The paperback was just released!
2. The Twelfth Night by @afarolfollmuth is the recent @reesesbookclub pick— I read it before Alexene’s interview on The Brightside and was taken by her personal story (she has bipolar disorder and is an awesome mental health advocate) and the sociological commentary she makes through her characters. She told us in many ways she writes for the past versions of herself and that comes through, esp in her female lead.
3. The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch Jeffrey Zaslow I can’t believe I waited until now to read this. Randy, a professor, was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. Before passing, he decides he’s going to spend his time writing his “last lecture” and shares advice his children may need once he has passed. He recounts important people who have been vital in “achieving his childhood dreams” — it will remind you to go after yours. He enlists the help of his friend and renowned writer Jeffrey Zaslow to write. ♥️
4. First Lie Wins by @ashleyelston —is SO good. I read it in one airplane ride!! It’s thriller about a woman with a fake name and secret job whose identity is wrapped up in a web of lies. (Ashley’s an @reesesbookclub author!!)
5. The Celebrants by @mrstevenrowley was recommended to me by my friend @nparsleycarleton ! After one of their best friends died in college, 6 best friend make a pact to hold funerals for each other so they can celebrate their lives, to say all the things they love about the person while they’re still alive to hear it. Each character gets only one funeral to be held whenever they need it most.
6. A Memoir of Open Marriage by @mollyrwinter (Molly is coming on #PRETTYSMART to discuss this book)! it was an instant NYT Bestseller I understand why. Molly and her husband decide to open their marriage but set strict rules—don’t date an ex, a neighbor, or fall in love. They break every single one they are still married! I love how they talk through all of the feels. | Posted on 01/Jul/2024 00:27:39
