I find the total medal reports, rah rah for American medals, beside the point. What’s more moving to me is when French athletes soar in front of the home
crowd. Leon Marchand so smooth in breaking. Michael Phelps’ last standing world record in the 400 IM….gave me chills to hear the French crowd roaring in timing with his breaths in the breaststroke.
But equally crushing to see the French women’s gymnastics team fail to qualify for the 8 top spots.
I love that the Olympians’ bodies make it evident as to what they’ve all been doing over the last decade. The swimmers, gymnasts, track athletes’s bodies are
as inspired as Greek statues. The horses’ bodies were just born that way…lol…they look like elegant dancers.
Murray and Evans showed such resilience in that come-from-behind tennis dubs victory. Bravo.
Were you a little worried to see Simone Biles’ calf taped up? A tweak from a couple of weeks ago seems to have been aggravated. Let’s hope she’s okay.
