yesterday? I’ve covered several Olympic Games as a journalist and I found the elegance of the Paris Ceremonies more moving, more emotional than all the rest. Celine Dion brought the poignant echo of Edith Piaf to life in front of 300,000 spectators. From Coco Gauff and LeBron James carrying the American Team Flag to Snoop Dog adding his Olympics fervor, it was a sterling start to these two weeks of the best athletes in the world on glorious display. Oh, wouldn’t it be heartening to revive the ancient Greeks’ custom of all wars on the planet ceasing for the duration of the Games.
