Diana Nyad Instagram – Before today’s Sports Monday mention, let me stand in ovation for President Biden’s remarkably heroic stepping aside from running for election in November. There is sometimes a fine line between refusing to quit and the grace of letting go. Joe Biden chose grace and he will be lauded hugely from far and wide for his courage in doing so. With his selfless endorsement of Kamala Harris, President Biden just injected hope into the future of his, our country.
As for Sports Monday, with open water swimmers concerned about the dirty Seine river for their event at the Paris Olympics, it was both fantastic and hilarious to see Paris Mayor Anne
Hidalgo taking a dip in the river, declaring the Seine a fine place for a swim! (p.s. After swimming around Manhattan in 1975, I had an eye infection for six weeks….just saying.)
