honestly, when the show came out, I was very unsure if I should say anything because I felt so hopeless and voiceless but that is exactly what hatred attempts to do- put out the light in people who move with love. and that would mean me changing who I am to become exactly what this man wanted, silent.
this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg in the amount of disgusting rhetoric that was voiced and the fact that he has CONTINUED with it to hurt even MORE people is abhorrent.
my story was restricted so people would not have to see this kind of language on TV when they were expecting a light dating show but I stand for the same things now that I stood for then. I do not tolerate, excuse, or justify hatred.
with all of that being said, this is not meant to create an attack on him because he clearly does not care. people like him spew hatred due to extreme insecurity and they deserve to be as invisible as they attempt to make others feel.
what this IS about is me not falling into a pattern of feeling like my voice does not matter. what this IS about is me reclaiming my power and my story. and I hope this serves as a reminder that for every person who speaks down, no matter how alone you may feel, there will ALWAYS be people who stand up.
