Karimah Westbrook Instagram – “Nature is the greatest place to heal and recharge.” When I saw this quote it made me think about an experience I once had. One day I was feeling hella stressed and then I’d remembered something I had heard about trees having healing powers. It was said that if you hugged a tree, it would absorb negative energy and any stress. So, I went outside, I found a tree and I hugged it. I took breaths and I held on to that bad boy. Feeling a bit silly, I then sat down next to it and leaned back on it. I literally felt the stress leaving my body. I couldn’t believe it. It was crazy but it was real. I soon felt very calm and relaxed. I later went inside and researched this mystery, and I learned that many believed that trees possessed a unique energy, a life force that could be transferred to humans through physical contact. In Native American cultures, for instance, the act of hugging trees was seen as a way to connect with the wisdom of nature and to heal both body and soul. So… try it! Get out in nature this week. Hug and sit by a tree. Reset and recharge. Let me know what you experience. 🙂
