Kirstie Allsopp Instagram – So much to say about @glastofest and so few pictures because we were in the moment most of the time. When I asked my son what he wanted for his 18th, and he said he wanted to go to Glastonbury I was at a loss, I’d never been and didn’t think it was my scene. It turns out it’s for everyone, I went with my oldest friend, Claire, and my Goddaughter Daisy as well as Bay, none of us had ever been before. We had decent shared showers & slightly better loos than many, but we stayed on site in tiny little huts called a pad pods and we saw everything we could and walked for miles & miles. Our favourite food was @dosadeli but the “Lebanese Coffee” sheep’s milk ice cream was delicious and the guy who sold me a cuppa & egg sandwich at 6am was a saint, in fact everyone was so sweet, friendly and helpful, the atmosphere all around the site was one of patience & kindness. We saw Keane, Dua Lipa, Little Simz, Cyndi Lauper, Femi Kurti, Anne-Marie, The Sugababes, and of course Coldplay, very sad not to have got there in time for Squeeze and to have to leave before The Gypsy Kings, but for a Radio 4 listener it’s not bad 😜. I’m as cynical as the next person, but I have returned feeling remarkably healed after one of the most difficult months of my life. Thank you #glastonbury.
