Lindsay Philomene Instagram – I worked on this very special collaboration with my mentor @phylotattoos this weekend. She’s an expert in straight-line work, so when I received this client’s request, I reached out (with the client’s consent of course) to see if she would give me some guidance.
It ended up being a remarkable day of tattooing for all of us. We shared snacks, stories, Phylo shared some of her technical expertise with me, and we put our brains together for the trickiest parts (putting that stencil on, wowza!). Any artist will tell you that tattooing is a practice of life-long learning. In an era of social media influencers & tattoo celebrities who only show images of tattoo “perfection”, I think it’s important for us as artists to demonstrate that we are human: always learning, and that none of us do it alone. Also, in my own practice, I understand how vital the experience of being tattooed is for my clients, and I’m really grateful for the beautiful container that we were able to create together 🩵
